SMS Terms

These terms apply to text messages sent and received by Lightview Law Group, PC at (818) 646-8165.

What We Send

We text clients about their own matters: appointment reminders and scheduling, document requests, deadlines, and case status. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising text messages.

How You Enroll

You receive text messages only if you gave us your mobile number and agreed to be contacted by text, whether in your retainer agreement, by checking the consent box on our contact form, or by texting us first. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of representation or of any service we provide.

Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies and depends on activity in your matter. Message and data rates may apply; your mobile carrier's standard rates apply to messages you send and receive.

How to Stop

Reply STOP to any message and we will stop texting you. You will receive one confirmation message and nothing further. You can opt back in by replying START or by telling your attorney. Opting out of text messages does not end your representation; we will continue to reach you by phone, email, or mail.

Delivery Is Not Guaranteed

Delivery depends on your mobile carrier and on conditions outside our control. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Do not rely on text messages for anything time-sensitive. If a deadline is involved, call us.

Text Messages Are Not Secure

Text messaging is not a secure or confidential channel. Anyone with access to your phone or your carrier account may be able to read your messages. Do not send sensitive information, settlement figures, or medical records by text. Messages about your matter may become part of your client file.

Texting Us Does Not Make You a Client

Sending us a text message does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not include confidential details before we have confirmed there is no conflict of interest and you have signed a written agreement.

Privacy

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. See our Privacy Policy.
